Fred Miranda site is worthless

Fred Miranda sells plugins for Photoshop. His site says they work. I reviewed the specifications, installed and nothing.  That was the same response I got when I sent an e-mail asking for help. Be wary of this site. FredMiranda.com

The classical/acoustic musicians guide to creating a CD.

After spending thousands of dollars over the years on recording and producing albums, cassettes, and finally CDs, I was never quite happy with the sound quality of my classical guitar recordings.  Upon reviewing various sources on sound engineering, I found them too complex, full of inapplicable information, and they required an expensive home studio set-up for a rarely available spare room.

This guide is my inexpensive answer to that dilemma. In just minutes, you can set up your portable studio anywhere there is electricity. Your equipment will easily fit in a briefcase. You’ll learn exactly what to buy, how to set up the required equipment, and how to use the features of the recording program to create a studio-quality CD.  In short, I’ve boiled down hundreds of hours of research and practice into this simple guide.

In writing this guide I was careful to make sure you can easily follow every aspect of the recording, editing and mastering process. Not included is the complex engineering terminology (sampling rates, amplitude, principals of sound cards, MP3 vs.. wav, lossy compression to name a just few) that I studied to produce this step-by-step guide.  After a little practice, you’ll be amazed at the results.

Learn how to design CD cover inserts and where to purchase inexpensive CD cases and paper stock. The entire process from A to Z is done with your laptop studio.
Learn how to record guitar, flute, piano, voice, violin, trumpet, saxophone or virtually any acoustic instrument.

The required recording equipment (mixer, soundcard, cables, mic, mic stand, headphones)  with a carrying briefcase will run $275 to $450, depending on which microphone you choose.  A standard laptop computer can be purchased for as little as $400.

Get a CD with recording quality good enough to played on the air waves?   The Dilemma of Timber on the Guitar I was recorded with My Laptop Studio.  The quality of this CD easily surpasses any of my prior studio recordings.

Whether you need a demo CD for a job search, want to save songs you write, study your instrument, or make a studio quality recording to sell, you’ll find this guide an invaluable tool.

A word to the computer challenged

This guide is designed for the novice as well as the experienced computer user. For the novice, take your time and go over each chapter several times until you have mastered it, then proceed.  You’ll find it’s not that complicated. -William D. Baker
